The location was perfect, with beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. The cottage itself was cozy and clean, with comfortable beds and a well-equipped kitchen. The private garden was a lovely bonus, especially during the heatwave. The pub in the nearby village served delicious meals and was within walking distance. The grounds of Paxton House, just across the road, were great for walking our dog.
We had a couple of minor issues during our stay. The neighboring dog was able to jump over the garden fence, which was a concern for our timid dog.

It had everything we needed and more, making it truly feel like a home away from home. The host even left us some delicious local produce as a thoughtful touch. The location was perfect, with ample parking and beautiful outdoor space. We couldn't fault a thing and would happily stay again, and this time bring our dog along too.
Would definitely recommend this hotel.

I had a wonderful stay at this lovely lodge in the Scottish Borders. The self-catering aspect was perfect for me, and I was delighted to find the lodge warm and welcoming when I arrived on a cold day. The kitchen had everything I needed and more, making it feel like a home away from home. The WiFi strength was also excellent, which was important for me. The location of the lodge was ideal for exploring the stunning coastline and countryside. I especially enjoyed the views of the snow-topped Cheviots. The lodge itself was beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean, and the beds were incredibly comfortable. The little touches like the welcome basket for my dog and the log fire made my stay even more special.
There were a few minor issues, such as the bedrooms being a bit hot at night and the squeaky doors. It would have been helpful to have instructions for adjusting the thermostat.

Wonderful welcome with fresh flowers, honey, milk, eggs, and ground coffee provided. The location was great, with beautiful Paxton House and Gardens nearby for walks and access to the Tweed River. The cottage was spacious and very well-equipped, with a big fridge freezer and plenty of space. The guest information book and DVD selection were a nice touch. The garden had a convenient post box for our postcards, and the sensor lights were perfect for nighttime toilet breaks for our dogs.
The squeaky doors in the bedrooms. A minor quibble was that the bedrooms were hot at night, and instructions for the thermostat would have been helpful.
